To Commission A Portrait
My paintings are created from our meetings- a combination of photos which I take and, if your time permits, sittings in my studio.
First, contact me or my assistant to set up a meeting (see contact information). I schedule my work for the year, so be sure to allow at least a month or two for the painting to be made. Gift Certificates make a wonderful gift and are available for all of your special occasions, such as birthdays, holidays, graduations and anniversaries.
At our initial meeting we will establish what type of portrait you would like. We will discuss what clothing, background, and objects are to be included, generally the feeling that you would like to create in your portrait .
Next we will have a photo session in my studio, at your home, or perhaps an outdoor location. We will then meet again to review the photos and to select the desired pose.
I will then make sketches to life size for your approval.
At this point I start painting. If your time permits we can schedule a sitting or two in my studio as the work is progressing.
When the portrait is finished we will meet again for the final unveiling.You can then take home your portrait which will have captured this moment in time and will be a treasured in your family for generations.
